pour1malt, I actually had considered hand fastening, but she's Italian, so there would only be my tartan.
I planned on wearing a fly plaid, and using it as the sash for my fiance during the ceremony, I figured I would take it off and pin it on her as a show of bringing her into the family. Thoughts?

Welcome from Montana.
There are stories of big ancient Scottish weddings where after the ceremony, meal, speeches and toasts, the women take the bride to a large bedroom with a 4 poster bed and put the her to bed. Then the men take the groom up and put him to bed. Then they close the curtains round the bed and carry on partying.
Maybe you should stick to the modern style of wedding
Have a GREAT day!!!

aye- guid idea...
ya cuid alsa baith drink the 'Watter o' Life' (malt whisky) tegither oot o' a quiach...
(symbolizin' that we are joining oor lives tegither...)
we did that...
we alsa had the audience shout "Hail Robertson" "Hail Buchanan" an' toast us...
an we used Bladnoch Malt Whisky (oor local distillery) in place o' champagne...
