    Mark,

Thank you for the information. Please post a picture of one of your kilts in the Isle of Skye tartan when you get them in.

We did not ordered any kilts in the IOS- just material, we just got a confirmation for 125 yards...And I think we will have to order another 125 yards. I think 16 oz IOS will be next but right now we are at max capacity, we ordered over 280 kilts in march and justy placed another order for 38 custom orders and 125 stock (24 inch drops)

SO A FEW QUESTIONS TO THE FORUM MEMBERS

    1. how much of a demand is there for larger then 44 waist? And would it be better to custom make them or stock them in 24 inch drop.

    2. Would you be more likely to purchase a kilt only or a package deal with sporran, pin etc....

    3. Kids kilts - is there enough demand do you think to stock a few dozon

Cheap kids kilts are a bit hard to find. I can find >$150 kids kilts everywhere but who wants to spend that on something the kid will outgrow in 6 months? I don't know what the general demand is but I have been looking for a few.

Well, first time buyers (such as myself) would most likely go for the full package (as I did). Additional kilts, and existing kilt owners, would just likely go for the kilt-only deals. In the future, for instance, I may order a 13oz to compliment the 16oz i've already ordered....

I would be interested in the flashes included in a price...

Is the USMC tartan available through you yet?

Mark, just to clarify - the 13oz IOS you ordered is in polyviscose thread, correct? You originally posted this info on the 13 oz p/v thred. So far we have never seen 16oz p/v. Wouldn't want to confuse things.

    thanks

Flashes with the Kilt is something we just started doing on ebay. The Leatherneck Tartan is available today.

    Available Tartan

We can get any tartan made and have added Buchanan modern, Ancient MacPherson, MacPherson Dress, Cameron, MacDougal, Keith and a few others over the last few months.
When a tartan is ordered it normally requires an order of 50-80 kilts but because we have ordered so much we have an agreement with the suppliers to allow us to order these over 12 months.
Usually when we get a tartan made for the first time we order 2 of waist 30/32/34/36/38/40/44
We are taking a long view of this business and our goal is to carry instock 20-25 tartans (then add as need) in both 13 and 16 oz and have 5 of each waist size 30-44..or a total of around 1600 kilts available--with matching flashes and other accessories
Next Sunday we are redoing Mark B's garage and putting up a metal rack system and shelfs to better organize the 250 plus kilts/100 sporrans/flashes/bagpipes/shawls/flyplaids..etc we have instock right now

    Mark,

    1. I don't know anyone with a waist larger than 44" who wears a kilt. I think custom making them would be the way to go.

    2. I would be more likely to buy a kilt only. Those new to kilting would probably go for a package deal when buying their first kilt.

    3. Several X-Markers have expressed a desire for inexpensive kids kilts. Most sons want to dress like Daddy. I have no kids so I am no help on sizing.
