Pleasanton Highland Games
Attention Nor Cal Rabble and all visiting X Markers! The largest Highland Games in the United States (if not often the World) takes place here in the Bay Area.
Pleasanton Highland Games
September 1st and 2nd at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, CA
More details can be found here:
http://www.caledonian.org/games.html
Last year the F-H.C.A.G. and I took the kids and were very impressed with this event. We will be attending both Saturday and sunday as it truly is a Highland Games worth going to both days as there is so much to do.
The Musician’s scheduled to appear are:
Stand Easy, Brother, The Ric Blair Band, Browne Sisters, Alex Beaton, Golden Bough, The Wicked Tinkers, and Albannach.
The Winked Tinkers always put on a good show. I got to listen to Stand Easy at the Monterey Games and they are well worth checking out. After reading rave reviews about Albannach from Mike1 and many others here at XMTS I am looking forward to finally getting to listen to them myself.
So who is up to meeting up at the Games?
Cheers

I missed the Pleasanton Games last year because of a life-change. But the MacLaren Clan convener, in my last meeting with her, sweetly informed me that she expected me to come help her set up and take down the tent. So, I guess, I'll bow to the pressure and be there to prevent my arm from being twisted off.
... and there is a reknowed kiltmaker who really enjoys the Highland Dance competitions...
... oh, yes... and to meet all my XMarks friends, too.

We are planning on attending both days. Looking to a good time once again and praying for cool weather.
Anyone going through the San Francisco area be advised that the Bay Bridge will be closed in both directions during the holiday weekend. http://511.org/promo/baybridge/

I'll be there Saturday, prowling the grounds, but checking in at the Hall and MacNaughton tents.
I am NOT going to miss the Stand Easy shows. NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT.

The family and I will be attending. Right now I'm leaning towards Saturday. Looking forward to hearing Albannach for the first time. Shall we pick a time and place for the rabble to meet and greet?
Best regards,
Jake
