Does the inevitable shrinkage and cracking of the wood present problems?

I chose Red Cedar for it's low shrinkage/expansion rate. I plan on filling the cracks in the wood with an acrylic chinking compound.

It did not help my case when I mentioned that cordwood construction walls are bullet proof.

    Not sure why.
It it a labor intensive project. I've handled each log 4 or 5 times in the falling, cutting, peeling, trimming and placing processes. I figure I've got 100 hours into just laying the logs, mixing mortar, cleaning up stage.

It is indeed. It's an Original that I removed the pockets from.

That's less hours than I'd have thought Dale, you are doing well at that, I would say.

Maybe that's what I need to do, start with a smaller structure, then sell the house from there.

Thanks for posting the pictures of your project !
