Tried to edit this into my last post but the edit dealie just goes around and around forever...so hey,

Here's my Navy bridgecoat. A tad short for kilts. That's my Celtic Croft Weathered Gordon peeking out.

Might look better open and trailing behind, but then wouldn't be as warm or dry.

Sorry, don't recall where I ordered it from, has a standard U.S. Navy label inside. Think it might have been from Boston.

    Hey OFCJAX,

In case you missed it, What Price Glory has replica officers and enlisted Ike Jackets from War 2.

This is the enlisted. Did it up as a replica of my Uncle's in War 2.

Ron, nice looking jacket. I've been contemplating an Ike as well, but haven't found anything. I'll have to check WPG (and eBay, too, I suppose).

I've got a WPG battledress (Ike jacket) and love it. Stay away from their light weight ones unless you have a very trim waist.

This just turned up on eBay, funny the subject should come up now. This is exactly the same as the coat I bought, except for different rank insignia and buttons. For an officer of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders:

Don't know if he wore it with the kilt, but either way it's nice.

I have a Canadian WWII Great coat, and I would have never thought of wearing it with my kilt. Thanks to you all, I shall now give it a try.

Got the greatcoat today, and I'm thrilled with it. I'm glad I held out until a WWII era one my size came up on eBay, I really love the details and material. I'll have pictures up soon.

    Cheers,
    Nick

Couldn't pass up that price. Got an XL.

It just arrived. VERY nice. Comes to about 8" off the floor.

Boy, am I a sucker for a cheap deal or what!!??

    Thanks Chris...

I just ordered a British and a Sweedish...

Only question I'm wondering about that they guy on the order desk couldn't answer is does the British greatcoat really go right over left or is the picture reversed.

Guess I'll be bleeding sewing on buttons soon.

The British with buttons on the side to be sewn on.

The Sweedish, which is said to be new. $30

Guess if they're no good I can toss them in the car for emergency warmth in case of getting stuck in the snow...
