Hunting Stewart 18 oz. - the belated pics

Okay, I just realized that I finished this kilt a month ago and hadn't officially posted pictures of it yet (unofficially, you can see it in the SOKS Burns Night thread).

A little backstory on this kilt - back in May 2006, Matt Newsome posted a couple of entries to his blog (here) about kilts fastened with only a single strap. Well, in October 2006 I won a MOD Hunting Stewart off of eBay that was fastened by a single strap (sorry, no picts left online). Well, the kilt was the right length, and right hip size, but there was too much taper to the waist for it to fit me. So it got sold to one of our European members.

Now, I really liked how that kilt was constructed, and given the weather we have around here every year from October to April, I really, really liked the idea of a winter weight/Lake Effect kilt. So I bought some tartan from the Scottish Tartans Museum and got to work.

    The pictures:

Hunting Stewart modern, 18 oz., from House of Edgar
3" military rise, plain apron edge, fastened by a 2" nylon web band wrapped behind the back.
I've noticed the band sliding up a little when I sit for any length of time, so I'm thinking of adding a couple of belt loops, like both the eBay kilts had.

Why are you looking so worried? Maybe you're like me and hate your picture taken.

Very Nice Wompet. I love how it is pleated. I bet it has one heck of a swing too!

Looks a good military job there!

Pity that stuffed dead animal is obscuring so much of the apron though!
