Don't know about all Boone's, but in the case of famed frontiersman Daniel Boone, his was English.

I recently moved away from St Peters, MO so I can tell you first hand that you need to attend the Missouri Tartan Day Festival April 4-6 at Frontier Park in the historic district of St Charles.
While you're down there, go see Jerry D and his fine crew at Thistle and Clover, you'll absolutely love the people there and they have a great selection of highland wear and can order you a 5 yard, made in Scotland, wool kilt for only $325 in just about any tartan you can think of! They can also hook you up with all the Scottish happenings around the great STL metro area.
