    Tartan Museum, Salado, Texas

I went by the Tartan Museum in Salado, Texas, last Friday. I was surprised at their large inventory of tartans. I couldn't help myself and left with quite a bit of their inventory. Money well spent if I do say so myself.

Picked up a new balmoral, a sporran, and a few other items. It was nice to be able to see and fit the merchandise, before I spent the money. I recommend them highly.

So, I looked it up and I'm finding the "Central Texas Area Museum" which has genealogical library, and located near where a Highland Games is held along with a "Wee Scots Shop." Is this the place you're referring to?

I think you both are very lucky. I already have a Lamont from Matt. Very nice. Trying to decide which one to go with next.

After these I'll have three from him.

I already have a Henderson (weathered) made by Mr. Newsome. I'm very lucky indeed.

I just got my third Newsome, and was two deep on the Jones list for a while. All done for now though.

I had no idea there was a tartan museum in Texas. Thanks.

I don't think it's a "Tartan Museum" per se; from what I read, it's a Texas genealogical museum with a Scottish connection via the Salado games.

I could be wrong, but while there are several other museums & heritage centers dedicated to Scottish history & migration, I beleive we are the only museum in North America to focus primarily on tartan and Highland dress.
