Wow, such a nice friendly bunch on here! Thanks for all the welcomes! I'm hoping to get my first kilt soon. Trying to get up to the Prescott Highland games next month to check out the vendors and see if that helps make up my mind. I know my first kilt will have to just be a tartan that I like the look of as I did find a tartan that represents both my mother's and father's side (Bruce and Grant respectively) but it would cost me over 900 so I'll have to wait and save.

Here's a pic of the tartan. It's the Bruce New Modern, which according to the STA Grant used too...

Funny enough I was cleaning out my hard drive earlier today and came across a really old pic of me modeling a kilt for a friend that was starting a small little celtic shop biz back in the mid 90s. It's small and a little fuzzy (so were the 90s), but hope you like!

Here is a link that has the Bruce New Modern for MUCH cheaper than $900. Also, a few of our kilt makers here can aquire almost any tartan and make what you want. Speak with MAC Newsome, Kathy Lare, or Barb T. just to name a few. They can definitely make you a gorgeous kilt for much cheaper. If you're interested in seeing the work they've done, you can easily do a search by their names and you'll find dozens/hundreds of threads about their kilts.
