Thanks, guys! It is such a striking tartan to me. Its very handsome & outdoorsy. It is about the only one that I can always identify.
I like the Economy kilts, but there aren't any I really like. I'd get Royal Stewart Black, but...

Just recieved my Standard MacKenzie (Not Weathered) today in the mail.
Jerry sent the right size this time Thanks Jerry.
This kilt is gorgeous.Love the dark green color that allmost appears to be black in dim lighting.
Just have to adjust the length a bit because a 24 is way to long for me,then it will get some wear this weekend.
I came close to ordering the Weathered and it will be next on my list.

Here's one for you. I am 5'8", and that's a standard 24" length. Doesn't look too long, does it? Before you hem, try it on, adjusting the bottom for the proper position at the knees, and see how it looks.

The first thing I do is shorten the 24 length by two inches and im 5-11.
I like my kilts to hit just above the knee.
I just think it looks better and it does not tend to rub the back of the legs raw.
But everyone has thier own ideas of how they want to wear them.

Guys
I'm 5'7" and shaped like a fire plug. I'll take my SWK Standards and have them hemmed two inches by a friend. I like my kilts to hit about mid knee for the Standards, but a bit longer for my heavier wool. My 22oz WPG "The Beast" is at 23" for warmth during the winter. But for their money, the SWK Standards are tops for me.

I like my kilts to hit mid-knee. I'll try it on when I buy it, but I expect to need it hemmed an inch.

I don't think it looks too long at all. I'm 5'9" and I wondered the same thing when I got mine. Then I did the "kneeling test". I passed. If the kilt just barely touches the ground when you kneel, then you are golden. The front apron shouldn't rumple up. Easy.
But think of it this way, better to have the kilt a wee bit long, than to have it too short.
Case in point...
