    Sgian Brews

The ushers agreed to wear kilts and PC's for my upcoming wedding. Needing a gift that would have some Scottish significance but also be useful to them later, I made three sgian brews.

Technical stuff: Openers from a national hardware superstore paint department. Bolster, back and top walnut with scrap antler insert. Cut groove in antler to fix opener with Dremel tool, glued all up with 5 minute epoxy that I left 24 hours before working on it. Hand finished with Dremel tool and sandpaper to 400 grit. Three coats paste wax then buffed with soft cloth.

Great gift idea BEEDEE. This is definitely a gift that really does keep on giving.

It's great you have made their gifts yourself--they will treasure them!
