Well, it seems that in 3 pages of replies, at least 5 people have recommended W. Brewin & Co. with at least one other having recently ordered from them but not yet ready to give an opinion.

As a result, I went and ordered 6 pairs of kilt hose from W. Brewin today, in: black, brown, beige, Lovat Green, Lovat Blue, and Grey. Total cost: £35.00 including shipping to Japan.

Let's hope that'll keep my feet hosed for the next while!

You will be pleased, IMHO. These are my "daily wear Hose" For colder weather, I simply put a pr. of "soccor hose under them.

BTW, 3 pr. are now "drying aftr being "WOOLITED"

    Bottle green tabi.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I own black, white and navy tabi. They don't go with kilts very well though.

Just joking around with you. I think I might end up getting a pair of dark gray Lewis hose some time this year.

    Hope your's work out well.

I want some of those new kilt tabi to go with my silk dragon kimono-kilt. Maybe a Prince Charlie Happy coat.

    hold 'em up

You did not ask about flashes/ garters but I would go with Matts traditional ties in the same colors as you order hose so you can either match or contrast rather than tartan flashes. Like the kilts themselves the traditional ties can go all the way across the formality spectrum.

Thanks for adding that, Cerebite. Indeed, I didn't ask about garters/flashes but that's mainly because I don't often wear them.
