This THREAD has been a GOD SEND. My youngest Daughter, who is in Grad School, & has for several years worked for a Major National Clothing Retailer, as a Fashion Consultant & Model. She often attends Dressy affairs & has been looking for a gown to wear, proclaiming her CELTIC ROOTS ( Scots, Irish, Welsh ) This is a picture of a gown she was interested in
She asked my advise. on it, plus any other ideas. I sent her this post. THANKS.

BTW, here is a picture I carry in my wallet. This was a picture used in her companies catalog a couple of years ago. ( NOTE- I cropped & blocked out the faces for obvious reasons )

BTW, our RSCDS demo team is looking for new outfit ideas for the women. We're thinking of a black skirt with tartan gores, white blouse, and a vest. Any thoughts???

I think that sounds quite nice. I'm not a fan of the "all white gown" look for SCD, though lord knows a lot of ladies do that.

Puffer, I believe that the gown you've pictured is in fact a corset worn over a skirt, and petticoats.

If you search the forum for my thread on tartan gowns, which got almost no traction with our lasses here (which is fine) you will see links to a number of options. Following the picture URLS will get you to some retailers.

    Here's one.

Look at the corsets as well, which can be teamed up with a tartan long skirt, or not as the lady desires...

A personal favorite (in part because I have a definite crush on the model) is the Hortensia corset, which just happens to be on sale, at least in three different tartans.

Just a question......How many of you lasses out there would wear that?
