    Wonderful uniforms. There is a lot of pride in that. Good for you and your mates.

    If you're going to have to wear a uniform to school, that's the kind to wear. Everybody looks grand! Great photo. Did you take that?

    I agree that the uniform looks very good indeed - and I speak as one who wore school uniforms from the age of five until I was eighteen (alas, not with the kilt however!).

    It is interesting to note that the lassies' uniform has subtle differences to that of the laddies - no sporran, the kilt is of a smaller sett, the tunic has no breast pockets and no kilt hose are worn. How very sensible! I am afraid I am old-fashioned enough to find it very difficult to accept females wearing absolutely identical uniforms to their male counterparts, especially in pipe bands, but the girls at the QVS look just great.

    Take care,
    Ham.

    Looking closely at the photo, Hamish, you can tell that the girl certainly is wearing a kilted skirt, as there is a pin on the left front. I feel just like you do about women wearing the identical uniforms to the men's.

    A smart looking group of cadets! TSJ what is the clan crest badge? Could you show us a close up of it?

    If my cadet uniform had been that sharp, I would have worn it much more frequently, and with much more pleasure.

    Hmm, Now Lady Chrystel wants to send our girls out to this school !

    This is so, so impressive for us French folks of Scottish ancestry.

    Thank you very much for posting this great photo.

    TJS;

    Many public and private schools in the San Francisco Bay Area have uniforms but none are as sharp as yours. Although the full dress JROTC uniforms with medals and commendations come close.

    It isn't a clan crest badge; rather it is the crest of HM The Queen of Scots ( a lion sejant affronté Gules armed and langued Azure, Royally crowned Proper holding in his dexter paw a sword and in his sinister a sceptre, both Proper).
