    Early Role Model...

I think it was after seeing that photo of the Prince walking about Balmoral (when it was first published) that I started tucking my flashes so only about half the length showed at most. I've never really noticed anyone else doing that, and when I see flashes flying wild in the breeze it seems to me rather... sloppy? It's definitely one of my big pet peeves with kilt-wearing.

The Prince is definitely a good one to take notes on! He can make things work that I would never think of trying to pull off, even if I did have the right garments...

At Burnett's and Struth in Barrie Ontario after being presented with the RCAF tartan

This one is for Grant, if a Doggie kilt check is good enough for Prince Charles, well then you should have nothing to worry about.

The Duke does dress well. Is it me or does he seem to always have his fingers in his watch pocket. I would assume he is either pulling the watch out or putting in back. Is he an impatient person, always checking to see what time it is? Or is this a natural habit while wearing a waistcoat with pocket watch?

He's also prone to putting his hand/s into jacket pockets, so I'd say it is a habit vs. functional movement.

Do love the shot of him getting kilt-checked by somebody's spaniel!

And coincidentally, I had been dreaming up some two-color basketweave hose cuffs -- lots of inspiration here!

Could be both, though I imagine he's got a number of people who keep his schedule and remove any real necessity for him to look at his watch.

Sometimes I'll take out my watch, open it, look at it, put it back, and not actually take in the time. It's just a habitual act, but kind of embarassing when someone then asks the time and I have to look again.
