I ran across that one a couple years back too ! I would love to have a kilt in it. I know it will have to be a custom weave, maybe we could put an order together ?

That is a cool tartan.
Are there any other "car owner" tartans??? (specifically MOPAR in question.)

Hey Guys,
I've sent an email to the director of the STA to see if the MX-5 (aka Miata) tartan is restricted or if anyone can weave it. If it IS available to weave (since Kelly is bugging me about it) we'd be willing to get a few yards to either sell or make into a kilt for XMARKSers... WOOL ONLY. If you really ARE interested in getting one, PM me. You wouldn't have to be a Miata owner to get it...

Actually, I emailed the MX-5 Owner's Club a while back. They have NO problem with me doing a run.
In fact, IF I did one, they wanted me to let them know, as they might want to expand it for their club (it has been YEARS since they made a run).
I've had it on the backburner to do a custom run for myself (I lack the resources and experience to organize a cross-board special run).
Rocky, IF you do it: Let me know. I will mention it over at Miata.net.
PM coming.

I'll be a player, but honestly, it would depend on the $$$'s involved. As a member of a 3 Miata family, I'd love to have a kilt in that tartan.
It would have added a new dimension to the "why is that guy wearing a kilt?" discussion at the last Miata state rally!

Costs...
A 5 yarder will be $400.
A Premier will be $600.
Material (single Width... 30" wide) will be in the neighborhood (could be a little more or a little less) of $40 per yard (depends on mill's costs) and will be 13 oz.

Don't know about a hood, but I put a Tartan rooflining in an early '60s Ford Fairlane a few years back, for a car doing charity rallies, it had to be gaudy.
It was.
The tartan was Red, white, Yellow I dont think it was a 'real' Tartan at all.

Hi
I was the person responsible for thinking up and creating the Tartan for the 2003 MX-5 (Miata) Owners Club National Rally that was hosted in Edinburgh. I was doing a bit of planning for the upcoming 15th Anniversary of the Club and 20th of the Car and discovered your site.
I think there are some items from the first weave still available such as Picnic rugs and Scarfs, if any of your members might be interested but I would have to go and see what is left, not very much if I recall.
It has come up a couple of times about doing another weave and it might be interesting to see if there would be interested people around the world to make it all happen!
Happy to hear any thoughts on it
Regards

That is really cool now I have to look around and see if I can find a GSXR tartan.
