Don't think so
I have to agree with the general thought that if I have pockets then I don't need a sporran.

Well yes and no. I would like to see Matt pop on and explain to further.. but sporran is just Gaelic for purse. And as such they have been around forever as a means to carry all manner of things for all peoples. However the currant form of sporran does not look right for anything other than it's intended use. Others may feel differantly, but thats life.

I assume that they would not like it if you ride the standing coasters at the amusement parks in a kilt. (not exctly the most kilt friendly place I would think, if you ride the rides, though I think I saw pics of Panesh (sp?) at a Disney park)
Also, I think many store would get nervous if you are trying on clothes if you are wearing a kilt on the way in.

There are many, many current forms of sporrans, including drawstring sporrans for the belt, being sold by Matt Newsome through the STM among others.
Having grown up as a country boy in the south west, some of them don't look too far off from pouches worn by ranchers and so on, but always on the side. Used to be commen in Four H where I grew up.
Guess that's life.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Well, folks who wear fannypack/bumbags have pockets available too...
Was thinking more of a functional sporran like the Stillwater Nightstalker...obviously many would look weird/wild.
Not advocating it, just wondering if anyone had - like to save money.
I don't like fanny packs/bumbags but did wear one with the fire dept since it was crammed with gear we needed. Other than that...no thanks.
Thanks for the feedback...is a pretty silly idea.

The latest fashion?
Here's a traditional sporran used in a fashion shoot.

I‘ve used the SWK contemporary zippered sporrans as waist packs.
