At least it's leather.. The first sporran Sten Rune and I made was in plastic bin liners. Used to make a patern to cut from.

David, perhaps I would have had better results if I had mocked one before I dove in. Sten, it is a quartz crystal, yes. The weight of the rock holds the enormous flap down.
You guys do amazing work. I am trying to finish my degree and have finals tomorrow. Right now I can't devote the time to really give this thing a once-over, but will have time after tomorrow. I'll post a proper review at that time. In the meantime, thank you so much for the quality work. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I am thrilled to be joining Clan Freelander.
