If I recall correctly, the engineers at the Idarado told me that the copper, lead, and zinc paid the operational expenses of the mine and the gold and silver was profit. I'm sure that was a generalization, but their point was we could all see the copper, lead, and zinc, but we couldn't see the gold and silver in the rock.
