My first tartan kilt...
Well I was busy working yesterday (I'm a writer, so I work from home), when there's a knock on the door and it's my older brother. He hands me a package and says try this on. To my amazement it turns out to be a Kathy Lare Isle of Skye kilt - made to my size. (And a few months ago I was wondering why he asked me what my measurements were. He also asked my what my favourite tartan was, which is the Isle of Skye...) But he said it was my Christmas gift - thus I'm allowed to wear for a bit before he takes it back and puts it up, as he wanted to make sure it fits. I've only been able to take one good photo of it, so here it is:

(Sorry about the stuff in the background...I've been painting and building fences for the garden.)
Our mother is now calling us the Skye twins*, as we both have Isle of Skye kilts. (*We're not twins, my brother is 2 1/2 years older than me.)
Cheers,
Joe

That is indeed outstanding. Both on the handsome kilt and generosity of your brother. Yes, your mother is now right as you both are SKYE twins!

The kilt is made from 16oz strome wool.
My brother is the best I could ever have or hoped to have.

Ain't Kathy's work a dream??!! Welcome to the Isle of Skye club. We should be some sort of cousins if we both have an Isle of Skye of 16 ounce Lochcarron Strome hand sewn by Kathy Lare...
