"Freedom" tartan?

I've been considering a kilt made in this tartan. It looks a LOT like Rhode Island's state tartan, I've noticed, and it kinda mimics Isle of Skye in some ways.

Just curious, and I ask this question strictly as a personal opinion to the rabble, and as a matter of taste. Do you like this tartan? Why or why not? Comments?

Note: Please refrain from voicing any opinions regarding the Gold Bros., their companies or products. I am fully aware that the Freedom tartan is mainly (although not exclusively) a Gold Bros. item and this thread is not here to discuss their business practices. You are allowed to dislike this tartan because of its purveyor, but let's not go into that too much... If this thread veers in that direction, I'm sure the mods will be watching closely and put the kibosh on it. Thank you for your kind understanding in this regard.

Freedom Tartan, as in "freedom from... what?" My take is that it seems kinda bland for something that is supposed to represent freedom. I'd give it a miss.

IMO, It's not a bad looking tartan at all, but it certainly doesn't stand out.

I agree, the colors seem bland.

For me would depend upon if I already had a similar colored tartan or not. No point in having two kilts with tartans that were nearly the same.

I like it, but would not buy it. It is very attractive, but I have other things on priority.

Although to be fair to RI, the sett is a bit different. The Freedom has white stripe on a purple field, whereas the RI has a yellow stripe on a green field.

No, but they do sell it. I quite like it in a quiet sort of way. It looks a bit like the Solway. I'm not buying anymore PV kilts for now and I don't think I'd rush out to buy this in wool.

I think it's a modern/more colour version of the "Freedom of Scotland" tartan. Therefore it is a tartan directed towards Scottish sovereigntism.
(doesn't the name say it all?)

I like the tartan... it's quite different and I had my first and last PV kilt in it. I don't know if I'd get a wool kilt made out of it though. That proably just means I don't LOVE it!
