    My absolute favorite is only available in Germany, Fest Beer Hefeweisen.
    Here it's Guiness, Belhaven, Murphy's Stout, and Dox Equis when in the mood for something light.
    Wish I could get Innes and Gunn here also. Had it in Dumfries and it was great.

    You're all wrong. The correct selection and order:

    Shiner Boch;
    Paulaner's Hefeweizen (for summer);
    Belhaven's St. Andrews;
    Belhaven's Wee Heavy;
    St. Arnold's (anything);
    (The new) Southern Star (blonde and Pine Belt Pale Ale).

    BTW, I was in Detroit last fall and was sorry that Stroh's has been gone for a while. But, I enjoyed Bell's while there.

    Mass-produced American beers are just awful (and, sadly, it is what my parents choose to drink). I am thrilled with the still-growing craft beer movement here in the US. Domestically, I like the varieties from Sam Adams and Yuengling. Generally, I drink Belgian-style witbiere (Hoegaarden and Blue Moon), Irish red ales (Smithwick’s and Killian’s), and authentic Trappist ales (if I’m in the mood).

    I am currently on a mission to find a cocktail that I like and can order with confidence. Tonight’s selection at the bar will be a Negroni cocktail.

    Yes, the Belgian ales I like to drink around Xmas. A good example is Delirium Noel.

    If you like Belgian ales and you ever find yourself in the vicinity of Cooperstown, NY, you must stop at Brewery Ommegang for a tour. My wife and I visit there every few years. I love their Three Philosophers quadrupel.Here are some pics from our last trip…

    I do enjoy Guinness Draught, Samuel Adams Summer Ale, but my favorite right now is, Deschutes Brewery Black Butte Porter from Bend, Oregon.

    Cool, JRB. If I go to the Capital District HG in Altamont again, I will drive over and stop off at the brewery and sample some brews!
