    Simplicity #5029 "kilt" pattern

Simplicity pattern company obviously isn't and has never intended to be in the business of helping people get kilted. That isn't their intention. What this pattern is, is just that.........a pattern.

It gives cutting and sewing instructions for a garment that resembles a kilt.

I suppose that there are some people out there who want to have a cheap quick way to get into something that resembles traditional Scottish costume.

I am thinking, a High School production of "Brigadoon", or something of that nature, where the garments are worn through the run of the production, then never used again.

Tha Argyll jacket portion of the pattern, however turned into a pretty nice piece of work if I dare to toot my own horn a bit.

Of course, I had to do some altering and make some changes to the cuffs, pocket flaps and epaulettes, to get the look that I wanted.

Will be making another set soon for our Brother "Macthenife". His fabric is on it's way here from London at present, and will post up pix of it when completed.

    Regards aye,

    T.

    Argyll jacket pattern

    Greetings all, 22 October, 06:59MST

I have spotted the pattern on eBay. There is like 7 hours left. Current price is about $3. Pattern has the large and x-large versions.

Disregard everything the pattern set comes with except the jacket. This is the pattern I used to make mine. With some modifications.

    Fide et Fortitudine, aye!

Looks outstanding, and you wear it well.

Did you have a pattern for the bonnet?

    Regards,
    Dan
