Censorship
Is this where the forum is going? Someone has a problem. They contact the owner and the forum manager and they don't give the decency of a response. This is what they censored. After all the promises of being transparent.
After sending two private messages without the decency of a response I would like to know why McMurdo has been denied the honored title for retired moderator (the graphic he even designed for free) and does not have the opportunity to participate in the retired moderator forum.
Is this what this forum is going to be about? That when a member of the moderating team decides to hang up his hat that they will be given what is akin to the proverbial finger?
Is this the first warning sign that Steve Ashton is about to become the worst thing that has happened to this forum? One of the moderators did not want the honored title, Glen however never requested to be excluded. A private message was sent to Mr. Ashton by myself (McMurdo will not pm him because Mr. Ashton does not know the meaning of the word private when it comes to private messages) informing him that a grave mistake was made. Mr. Ashton was off and on all evening. He even spent some time fiddling with the administrative panel.
No response. I only post this on the live forum because my pm's have been ignored. I feel disturbed that this has occurred. It's as if everything that Glen has ever done for this forum was for nothing. The time he has dedicated to the forum. I expect that some moderator will of course take it down. I expect to be spanked verbally. Shoot maybe I'll be spanked openly. But ultimately there is a line between what is right and what is wrong. And what is happening is very wrong indeed and questions the integrity of the new owner, his business practices, and where he is taking this forum.

I regard both Glen and Steve as friends. Glen was a magnificent host to me in Toronto and Steve was a magnificent host to me in Victoria. Both are welcome here should they choose to return to Scotland. That's what this forum should be about, friendship despite how far apart we may live. Please guys, for the good of the forum, sort this out amicably, I will pray that you can do, we need you both on board.

All we want is what is due when a moderator retires. Steve is denying him that right. He might have misunderstood at first because Bradley didn't want it and that was rectified by my private message which has been ignored both by the forum owner and the forum manager. We made every effort to keep it private and since privacy to both Steve and Jamie didn't do the trick, then perhaps the only way Glen is given the respect is to make it public.
This isn't a personal vendetta. This is giving a moderator who has spent for the past year on average 40 to 50 hours a week online moderating his due.

I do not know what is going on here, but whatever it is, it needs to be brought to a speedy conclusion - for the sake of the individuals and the sake of XMTS. There are people hurting and that is not what we are about.

Chas

For my part I am not 100% sure that the rift which has developed can be repaired. However I do believe that all my hard work trying to make this forum a better place, my dedication to the forum, even now, and the fact that I was a very busy moderator should be shown the respect I've earned, as it stands I've not been shown that respect. All Catherine has been asking for, on my behalf mind you is that I be given the same respect as other retired moderators.
If Steve or any of the moderators had a question for me regarding this they did not come to me, instead I've been relegated to the sidelines without any regard for what is proper. This is not a personal vendetta against the forum or the owner; it is simply a response to being ignored by almost the entire staff, people who I've counted as my friends and colleagues for some time. It was decided to bring this to the open forum as in the past my private messages to the owner of the forum have been made public and the fact that my wife's private messages have been ignored.

The open forum is not the proper place for airing laundry and resolving disputes.
