A couple of weeks ago my wife Lou and I went hiking up in the hills outside of Carbondale, CO. It was a super hike and the foliage was still green before the cold really set in. It was also the start of elk hunting season. My wife asked if there were any Blaze Orange kilts made specially for this time of year. We came across several folks on horseback but fortunately did not see any hunters. It was a super day for a hike.

Looks like a great day for a hike. It's always nice to get out and enjoy the last of the good weather in the fall, and more so if the scenery is as beautiful as the mountains.
I've not seen any blaze orange kilts, but Hamish did post a photo of his safety green kilt with reflective stripes like a construction safety vest.

What a great turnout - I love it! A backpack in lieu of a sporran and no belt. Great look and no doubt a most comfy way to hike.

Hey piperdbh yeah the knee healed fine and that was the first real test of the new knee. I'm about 95% now and will keep working at it. Riverkilt good to see you back. I usually hike w/out a belt as it keeps the heat down around the waist. While recuperating from knee surgery over the summer I added on about 10-15 unwanted pounds and this was the start of my working/hiking it off program.
