Jock...
I know that you're opinionated, and I have pretty tough skin. I wouldn't have asked if I couldn't hack the response.
The 'tweed' (notice it's in quotes) is actually worsted wool (think 13 oz tartan KILT fabric) made to LOOK like tweed. It's not thin or cool IMHO.
I respect your right to disagree on the outfit (and cuffs, and vest, and flashes, and tweed suits in general). I won't cry too much. At least you didn't comment on the fact that it has no Eppaulettes.

I like the end product, Rocky! I see that I posted a couple of months ago and my preferred pattern was the one I had purchased in the Estate tweed with a moss green waistcoat.

Actually, I prefer day jackets without eppaulettes!!! AHAA! I thought so! I regard 13 oz cloth as totally useless, you would die of exposure on the hill and this way of the world 24 oz is regarded as the minimum for a jacket and plus 4's. No tweed, or tweed like, kilts up here. Like all things, it is horses for courses and you are the cutomer,in effect, and you like your creation, so it matters not one jot what anyone else thinks and that includes me!

I like the jacket and waistcoat together a great deal, but still prefer kilts to be tartan. Maybe you will give us another pic with a more traditional kilt?

I checked your link, but unless I am missing something, I do not see his new tweed coat and red vest matched with a tartan kilt.

Rocky rocks (even braving today's wind and snow)!
Jock, your point of view is consistency itself, and one that I lean towards, having clearly defined highland lineage; but, not all kilt wearers are Scots, and kilts are clearly moving in new and more modern directions. I find these changes very exciting and love that Rocky is able to move fluidly in both worlds, the traditional and the modern.

That's what I like about Rocky (and Matt) too. Both have shown fine examples of how a tweed kilt suit can make its way into modern kilt-wearing culture while retaining a classic look. They're pioneers in many ways.
