I don't care about anything other than easy reading - the text area where the posts are is not an easy read. text on gray is not a good idea

    Thumbs up

Well, on the positive, speaking as a computer luddite, As far as I can tell, the new format operates basically the same as the old, so I have not had any problems reading or navigating it. I think my issues with staying logged in have cleared up too.

Suggestions; I will agree with some prior posts that having the User CP with photo and ads on the right of every page sort of crowds the rest of the page, and is a bit repetitive- there are already adds across the top of the page. I kind of miss the tartan background as well, and The Xmarks tartan background with white text for the headers makes the text a little hard to read.

One other observation, I know the X-Marks kilt 'chorus line' banner photo is a place-holder, but I think a photo collage (possibly rotating?) of members in their X-Marks kilts would be great up there.

Same complaints as everyone else - way too much white and not enough contrast, but it does seem to me that the site loads faster.

As long as the content deals with kilts, though, I really don't mind how it looks. I have confience that there will be much "tweaking" to get the look right.

Looks to me like the text has been changed to black. Yay!

To my eye, the thick borders [around individual posts and the tables in the "new posts" page] look bad. Thin is [almost] always the winner on table borders

(I realize it's being played with at the moment, just wanted to add my opinion, since I noticed it was being tweaked)

I love everything! but......the white background is a it hard on the eyes, I have a migraine right now from it.....

P.S. This is soo cool that we get to talk straight to Steve! Here I figured wiht his scrubbed profile and ownership he would be kinda standoffish from the rabble....I was wrong! Even more I like about this forum!

    It is faster.

The chorus line is - interesting.

The overall look is rather dismal.

Perhaps stark is a more apt description.

The positioning errors seem to be decreasing, so perhaps all the effort is going into that, and the colours will be added in later?

    Whoa!

So is this like passive-aggressive punishment for all those of us complaining about a white background?

The blue background, although toned down from CDN's photo, is still a bit bright and hard on the eyes. At least my eyes...
