It is made of sealskin - as far as I am aware it is banned in the US - importing and possessing. So I don't think you will get one in the US, not legally that is.

Pre-ban sealskin sporrans regularly turn up on ebay.

Many of the X-Marks advertisers have quality formal non-sealskin sporrans. For example, check out the Scottish Tartan Museum:

    or USA Kilts:

Yes, but they will be new and L&M won't ship into the US because of that ban. Rathdown has the answer: e-bay for pre-ban manufactured. Specify that the seller must be in the US. And don't get the Canadians and Highland Scots on the forum going on the foolishness of this proscription.

The sporran you linked to appeared to have black dyed fur, so to get a similar look without seal skin, I'd recommend black muskrat. It's really a very nice soft fur, and there are a few different black muskrat options listed on our site:

If you don't like any of the ones show, you can also design your own:

There are also very nice bovine or equine fur sporrans made to look like sealskin. I find them a suitable substitute! Another great point about these furs, if you're interested in the ethics of keeping livestock, is that the animal in question will also have been used for (human or animal) food. I find that a bonus, although not a must.

Sealskin is legal in my country (I have one as a rug!), but very expensive, so I shop around for other furs as well.

L&M doesn't sell to the general public. One would have to go through a retailer like myself or the other advertisers here.

A sporran made from clipped (and dyed) bovine would look very similar to the linked example.
