Hello from Strasbourg, Alsace!
Hi! 
I am Alsachti, from the french region of Alsace.
I wear kilts for several years now, traditional or modern ones, but also some long skirts. I have two kilts, one with a Scott Green tartan and another one with a McGregor Red and Green Tartan.
I joined recently an association that promotes the wearing of unbifurcated garments for men, "HeJ" (meaning "Hommes en Jupes", french for "Men is Skirts").

My ancestors emigrated from your area (Gutten Wassen) to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania about 1740, so maybe we're related!

Hi, Alsachti, and welcome to the growing clan.
I have read of an Alsatian company that manufactured tartan and kilts. It was something quite unexpected.
Ancestors of mine came from areas both west and east of where you live, but not from Alsace itself.
