    Trooping the Colour

    It's amazing what one can find online! I stumbled across the complete recording of the Trooping the Colour in 1995--the one and only time I have been fortunate to attend-- at which the Queen's Colour of the Scots Guards was trooped. I am enclosing a link to the departure of The Queen, so you can hear a fine medley of Scottish tunes.

    It happens daily in the summer, on the lawn of Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Free to everyone. And the Queen herself will be arriving here shortly. God Save The Queen.

    {The preceeding has been an unpaid tourist advisory courtesy of a citizen of Ottawa.}

    Well, Changing of the Guard happens daily; Trooping the Colour is a once a year event to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen's Birthday.

    It's a shame that in The Queen of Canada's Capital of Ottawa, the Guard isn't changed daily all year, instead of just a tourist show in the summer.

    It reminds of Pass and Review ceremonies we did in the US Army.

    I wonder if they had medics on standby ready to stick any fall-outs with a saline drip. (The thought of that horror always helped me remember to keep my knees slightly bent).

    Nice video. Bit of a shame, though, that the Pipes and Drums didn't get to play.
