What a great video! Thanks for posting it.

They mention a their museum in Leith. That makes another reason to go there the next time I'm in Edinburgh, the great pipemaker Sinclair being in Leith also.

I have four old Highland Dress catalogues from Andersons. I wonder if it's the same firm, or at least the same family.

The oldest says

Making it around 1936.

The other three are from the 1950's and only mention the Edinburgh address.

I have Kinloch Ancestors (the pronunciation has been locally corrupted to Kin-Law) but they arrived in North America around the middle of the 18th century. Despite their association with highland dress, the Kinlochs themselves seem to have no tartan, save a corporate one registered a few years ago. I believe my Kinlochs came from East Lothian originally.

Great video -- but arriving at the castle in an AUDI somewhat belies all the "British style" business. C'mon, they could have rented a Jag or Roller for the video shoot. . . surely it would have run that far ;o)
