Careful there... this is the "Rice/Price of Wales" 'name' tartan (ITI 5754) designed in 2002 by Sheila Daniel of Cambrian Woollen Mill in Powys, Wales. The "Prince of Wales" tartan (ITI 3306) is quite different. It's an odd beast - the warp and weft are different, there are odd numbers of threads, and in this case, there is even a single gold thread. The colors are maroon, olive, navy, dark blue, and dark gold. Since I am a descendant of Rhys ap Gruffydd, though, I had to have it whether it is classified as a tartan or not!

Totally mis-read that, thanks for the 'save' It's a beauty tartan, one way or the other.

Hi, ADSMguy – while there have been snotty-nosed remarks on the Scottish Register of Tartans website about Welsh tartans (particularly their asymmetry), I like most of the designs, and feel that the Price of Wales is a rather handsome one.
Since the Scots invented tartans, they have also cornered some of the most obvious designs. I think it innovative of the Welsh mill that they have used atypical patterns.
Your outfit looks very good indeed.
    Regards,
    Mike

Wow, that is an amazing sporran and you make it look good. Great that you can be so free to dress as you please at work. I don't dare show up in court in a kilt. Dang!
