    That is really nice looking!!!

A little off-topic, but would those of you in the know consider this an alternative to a full dress sporran? Could it replace one with a fancy metal cantle at a formal event?

Donny, man, that is quite a work of art. You are one of the very best.

I am not 'in the know' but I would wear that to the most proper and formal of events.

If the main part of the cantle were in black instead of brown, I'd say go for it. IMO, the brown leather just isn't formal enough, as beautiful as the piece may be.

WOW and dbl WOW. That is one cool looking sporran. I am lucky enough to have one of Donnie's creations and he does exceptional work. Wear it with pride.

I really dig this sporran ( and the others I have from Donnie).

The cantle leather and stitching is all black with the exception of the design in the center which is in brown. I did get it with the intention of replacing my current " dress" sporran. Got it with the silver button to fit with my formal sporran chain and to go with silver belt buckle should I go with jacket and no vest (waistcoat).

My descicion was to go with something which was just more my style and not like everything else out there. Donnie did a great job, is great to work with and the sporran exactly meets my needs.

    So the closure....

The silver button on the front is fixed. There is a leather strap under it which crosses the top opening of the sporran and snaps on the outside of the back panel of the sporran at the top. It's very secure and simple (for the wearer) to open and close.
