Smile Kilt rentals near North Carolina

I will be marrying my lifelong sweetie at the end of November. !!!!! I need to rent a kilt for her son for the ceremony. He currently has little interest in Scots, but time will tell.

Can anyone recommend or warm me away from any particular kilt rental company ? If I don't know the weight of the wool, or the people who answer the calls don't know their products it's hard to make a decision.

ALL HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED !!!! Short on time but long on love !

    Thanks very much to all,

    George

Congrats on your upcoming! Wilmington and Asheville are a ways apart, that's for sure. I'm not sure what's available down that way, but there are Members here from that part of the state as well as the Asheville area. There's plenty to do around Asheville, and lots of websites to assist your search, depending on your fancy.
As Heathbar suggested, the STM is a good place to start your kilt search.

I'd suggest sending a PM to BEEDEE. He lives not too far from Wilmington, and will probably know whom to contact. And, the STM will know everything, too.
Regarding stuff to do in Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway is there, and it's free. The Biltmore House will be decorated for Christmas, and it's very much NOT free. There are shows, concerts and other events at the Civic Center, the Tartan Museum is not very far away, and there are a lot of pretty places to see. The small town of Black Mountain is in the same county, which is a cute little place full of shops, galleries and crafters. When you get to the place you're staying, the lobby will probably be full of brochures and pamphlets about attractions, and the front desk can answer any specific questions you have.
Are you sure you don't want to have the wedding on this end of the state? I could make you a really spiffy cake!

    Hi
While I strongly support and encourage you to patronize members and advertisers here, if it doesn't work out I'll put in a word for
    The Scotland Yard (www.scotyard.com).

They have a rental division that did me quick and efficient service earlier in the year on fairly short notice. Decent product and prices, and very helpful with questions, etc. Once organized, all the kit is mailed to you in advance and returning it after the fact is equally easy.

Hope this helps, and best wishes for a great day.

I rented six kilts and PC's from the Scottish Tartans Museum for my wedding two years ago. Great service, even down to getting the PC's form another company when their jackets came back too late to be cleaned and turned around. Matt Newsome is a member and advertiser here.
