Can someone tell me a bit about this uniform
Hello,
This is my first time on this forum, so hello everyone. I'm hoping someone
can help me. This picture was found by a cousin in Lancashire. It was with things belonging to her grandfather. We don't know who it is. There is writing on the back which says: 91st Canadian Highlanders Inf. 1912. The two men from that area were with the Lancashire Fusiliers, so were are stumped.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The sporran is a "swinging six" so my guess would be from the Argyle & Sutherlands.
Welcome to the forum by the way.
Cheers,
Ken

Yes, that is the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders of Canada (Princess Louise's). The regiment was formed on September 13, 1903 and gazetted three days later as the 9lst Regiment Canadian Highlanders.
Would you also consider posting this photo to the Show Us Your Vintage Kilt Photos thread? If unable, I can do it for you.
Thanks.

R Money Barnes gives the following:
The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders of Canada: uniform as for The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders excepting regimental badges &c. Organised 1903 as 91st Highlanders.
The Calgary Highlanders: uniform as for The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders excepting regimental badges &c.
The Cape Breton Highlanders: uniform as for The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders excepting regimental badges &c.
Seems as if three regiments wore the same uniform as the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders of Scotland.
