Interceltic Fest Noz 1/29/2011
The 2nd Annual Interceltic Festival of NY will again be an evening of music and dance celebrating the common heritage, traditions, culture, and story of immigration of Celtic peoples in New York City. Thirty musicians locally based or from abroad, will create a ceilidh or fest noz like atmosphere highlighting the dancing nature of Celtic music.
Last year’s edition set a standard as one of the most convivial and lively on the New York Celtic music scene, while at the same time exploring and expanding musical horizons by representing lesser-known musical traditions from Celtic ethnic minorities. The evening will also be an opportunity to promote the regions, culture, economy, language, tourism and uniqueness of each individual Celtic nation.
Hosted by BZH New York, the Association of Bretons in New York, the Interceltic Fest Noz celebrates the music, dancing and culture of all the Celtic Nations: Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Brittany and Galicia, while also heralding the beginning of the Celtic spring, or Imbolc.
BZH New York is a not-for-profit organization composed of Bretons and friends of Brittany dedicated to promoting
the region of Brittany, France. Brittany, former independent kingdom and duchy, is a province of France since 1532.
Brittany is one of the Celtic Nations.
So far the performers are Tony Demarco and friends, Fergus Begley, Thomas Moisson, Charlie LeBrun, Nosa Terra, Niall O’Leary dancers.
Location: Tribeca Loft @ Bowlmor Lanes, 222 West 44th Street (between 7th Ave and 8th Ave)
Date: Saturday, January 29th. (7pm – 3am) - Yes they are planning on an 8 hour long party!
Cover: $15
Note: I am not a member of BHZ and am only copying information from their site and one other site. I went to this last year and it was a blast, I recommend it but get nothing other than enjoyment from this or people coming to it.

Raise a glass before Interceltic Fest Noz
It has been suggested we Do a meet up before we head over to Interceltic Fest Noz. Rather than do two separate events in one month, which for some can be expensive.
Instead we can meet for cocktails/ appetizers or dinner. Then the lot of us can stroll over to Fest Noz.
Let me know If 5pm is too early ?
5/5:30pm for cocktails / dinner. We should be finished by 7::30pm. Then it is a short "Kilted Walk", down to 44 street.
Interceltic Fest Noz
7pm at the Tribeca Loft Nightclub 222 W.44th St. between 7th and 8th Ave.
