Are off-center belt-mounted sporrans OK for modern wear?

STA has some Ferguson Britt historical sporrans that hang from a belt loop, rather than from a sporran strap. Naturally, these can't be positioned in front - the belt buckle is in the way. It has to be worn to one side. Is this acceptable in semi-modern (i.e. 19th cent or later) wear? Thanks.

Might look a bit 'off' with a jacket, but with a T, polo or rugby type shirts should be OK. Many men move their sporran over to their hip for sitting, driving, toileting or dancing anyway.

Don't like the idea, but am biased against belt-hung sporrans anyway. Pic would help if you can be bothered trying to convert a conservative?

If you'll forgive me, good sir- I believe it's the STM that you're thinking of.

...and I personally think there's not a thing wrong with wearing them with modern informal gear. I have one that I find excelent for the puropses of hiking and such... the off-center sporran is great for not hitting you in the junk while walking.

I usually wear mine in the center and off-set the belt buckle:

'Course the sporrans look fine off-center, too!

I'm sure they are okay to wear, except such a trend could cause the degree of the earth's spin to change a bit.
