My mistake - I'd assumed given the previous postings that the delay was with the mill, and not in relation to your issues. I apologise.

Additionally, it's not quite as simple as them shipping one package (which would incur a rather hefty tariff. )
The package I was referring to was the "ten strands of wool", not postage for the entire bolt of fabric.

Glad to hear progress is being made

    Forward Ho!

Thanks to our Dr. Nick Fiddes, we now have a direct and functional line of communication with the mill!

Early this AM I found something in my inbox

Which is much closer to the acidic green we're looking for than we've gotten previously.

I'm writing Dalgliesh again to try and secure a scan or samples for the two darker greens, and finalize the details on breaking and shipping at the mill.

Then we're GOLD and the "kilts that should not be" CAN be.
    ith:

Edit: I'm also enquiring as to what additional costs may be incurred if we went to a custom dyed colour for the darker greens. Hopefully have an idea in a few days.

    Thanks lads,

I am preparing to send some colour chips to them very shorty (scans of which I'll post here first, obviously). I've been informed that the cost for custom dyeing is negligible with an order of this size, but it would result in an additional ~8 week wait (or roughly OCT delivery).

I also don't want to make them send more samples if we'd rather be REALLY specific and just go for the custom dye.

So I put it to the rabble: Should we:

    A) make due with thread they currently stock (and could have more samples sent) and get this order rolling?

    OR

    B) Go full-custom and add two months onto the delivery?

I'm open to suggestions up through Monday 25MAY 0900 CDT.

    ith:

I don't have a dog in this fight, but today's fire at the dyeworks in Selkirk might have some effect on your plans.

Two months if we could get it "RIGHT" is completely acceptable, that long and still not perfect, then I would say close now is okay.

Amy and I are going to with wait for the custom since we have no specific date we need it done by. As long as we have it for in time ro have the kilts made for Ren Fair next year (this years hasn't ended yet to give you an idea) we're good.

I inquired about that in my last message to them, so that obviously would tip the scale if additional delays were incurred.
