    more interesting Ebay things

What can I say? I troll Ebay for kilt-related things, the lovely and the strange.

    A fantastic 1912 Forsyth sporran

    A cantle by Leckie Graham

    A fellow in Oban

    A piping judge in 1939

A 1937 advert: notice the men all in Regulation Doublets and long hair sporrans with five knobs, the piper wearing a Black Watch sporran

And last but not least, this very odd photo. Note the white Glengarries. The costume has a homemade look to it. And what's with the bags hanging from strings? Wannabe sporrans?

Those lads in white do look odd. Their uniforms(?) remind me slightly of a Greek fustanella outfit. Maybe an early Greek ex-pat group in Scotland?

I'll agree, fustanellas were my first thought with that pic, though, other pics I have seen of fustanellas had many many more pleats than you'd find on a kilt...

(Is it ok to discuss the kilt's cousins on this site?)
