I think you mean the 5 yard. I would say if you have enough money to get the 8 yard I say go for that. It looks better in my opinion. But the 5 yard kilt still looks great.

Ditto what Cower said. If it's a straight question, not concerned with cost, get the 8 yarder. They have a different level of construction as well. If cost is a constraint, then the 5 yarder is the way to go.
Either way, it's a great kilt. And you can always wear both to ANY event with appropriate accessories.
Best of luck!

Agreed. Go with the best you can afford. You will not regret the decision in the long-run.

I might prefer a 5 yrd kilt outdoors in the summer in hot locations, but the 8 yrd otherwise.

Rocky will be the first to tell you that there is a big difference in the construction of his 5 yard vs 8 yard kilts. If I'm not mistaken, his 5 yards kilts don't have the pleats cut out, a stabalizer, or any lining. There may be other less obvious construction differences that I'm not aware of also.
If budget is a non-issue (and if it is, I would just be patient and save longer) I would go for the 8 yard for sure.
Best of luck!
