I enjoy a good single malt scotch, beer, a well made martini (shaken, not stirred) and real German or Austrian schnapps (which you can't get in Canada).
I also have a wine cellar that currently consists of about 300 bottles of red wine, and a few bottles of champagne and vintage port.
I will have an occasional pint or glass of wine on a weeknight to unwind or with dinner. On the weekends my wife and I enjoy cooking and its a must to have a bottle of wine open while working in the kitchen.
I enjoy sitting in front of the fireplace on a cold Canadian winter night with a full bodied Islay malt.
In the summer time I have a house rule that you cannot be within 100 ft of the BBQ without a cold beer in your hand.
To me, different kinds of alcohol were made to be enjoyed and to delight the senses (not necessarily to get drunk).
