    Talking More new goodies!

I've been on a roll lately, picking up new stuff to wear with my kilt(s).

This time, it is another lovely tweed jacket and some new neckties.

First, the jacket. I got this on eBay from Clunie Classics (Scotland). It's a vintage tartan tweed jacket, made by Hugh MacPherson, Edinburgh. I'll be honest: I am in love with this jacket. I love everything about it. The colours, the cut and fit, and the overall effect. The level of complexity it adds is simply fabulous, don't you think?

I'm wearing it with an el-cheapo kilt that I dislike, but only because my good kilt is out for repairs (more on that later, in a separate thread).

And my new neckties. I found these at Nordstrom "Rack". They are all made by Robert Talbott for Nordstrom. They caught my eye because they look like regimental ties. And lo and behold, when I turned them over and looked at the tags, they are labeled Old Highlanders 42nd, Old Brightonians, and Argyle & Sutherland Highlanders. The stripes are running the wrong direction to be authentic regimental ties, and I'm glad of that. I couldn't resist buying them, as I think they look just smashing, either with a kilt or trousers.

    *edited to add:

Jeez, looking at these pictures, I'm reminded of why I like "chunky" hose. These are some cheap, thin hose I'm wearing in the pictures. They make my legs look like popsickle sticks. I think these will be officially retired as kilt hose, and I need to order some more House of Cheviot hose (Lewis style).
