Don't worry, Alaska would be just as restrictive if it had the population. Just have a look at the legal system. The higher and denser the population the worse it gets as a rule. Doing something "because I want to" only works til the guy with the badge and gun says you can't. Apparently for now you guys in Alaska have it pretty good, but the way things are going don't count on it lasting.
