MacDougall Ancient
Some time ago I was able to purchase through kijiji (the Cdn version of Craigslist) a length of MacDougall Ancient fabric. I had no idea of the length, width or quality of the fabric but it was cheap enough ($50 I think) that I didn't much care. Once received it turned out to be about 4.5 yards of 16 oz. material - not enough to make a tradional knife-pleated kilt but still a great value. Thought about trying to make something myself but with zero experience and now knowing the value of the material, I decided to turn to a pro. Contacted John at Keltoi and he said there was enough to make a box-pleated kilt so I shipped it off to him.
Just received the finished product and could not be more pleased with how it turned out! High quality craftsmanship, excellent communication throughout the process and great care in the packaging and shipping.
Thanks John. Looking forward to wearing it for the first time very soon and of course will post a pic here on X Marks!
