Ya, Old Hippie, I know what you mean. I didn't wear a kilt around the mulch machine; it doesn't work anymore, so I have to cut things up by hand now and I didn't even think of it. I also know what you mean about compost fixings and not wearing a kilt...
I did wear a kilt while working on ceramic hand building, but I had a good sized apron wrapped around me, and I never tried the wheel in a kilt. I know that could work, though from what other people have worn while throwing.
Since canvas is not an option, guess I really can't say much else.
