Yes, but they also come in other colours. I have seen all sorts whilst traveling in Bavaria (southern Germany, specifically in Munich, Bischofswiesen, Hallein, Berchtesgaden and Garmisch-Partenkirchen - my favourite region of Deutschland, bar-none!). The attire of the Bavarian man in all its tradition and romantic alpine glory, is somewhat similar to that of traditional Highland dress - lots wool, stag horn buttons, tweed, hose, garters, ornate hats, leather, solid and check shirts, brooches, etc.
