For what it's worth, this booted and low slung look would appear to be de rigueur among the younger element of the Scottish Kilting fraternity. It is if my recent visit to Dumfries is anything to go by anyway. Most of the locals who joined us on the casually dressed kilted Pub crawl were kitted out in similar fashion. Howie's TFCK creations ARE admittedly top of the range in this style, but it is being emulated by those Scots not bound by the traditional conventions. I don't really mind it, it's not really my cup of tea personally but at least the customers are spreading the word of grandness the Kilt and boosting the Scottish economy as well, which is no bad thing.
