Got Haggis? and other things
Alright, I just came back from a place where a man is not judged because he wears a kilt. In fact about 55% of the men WERE wearing Kilts. I just got back from the Texas Scottish Festival and Highland Games in Arlington Texas. It was great in many ways. Good competation in the games, great dancing and pipes sang out across the entire area. I was in heaven. Kilts of all types from home made, Utilikilts and some that would wipe out my paycheck. Vendors everywhere selling anything you could thing of and I would say close to 100 Clans represented.
Upon walking around after first getting there I saw a couple of food vendors with Haggis listed. I turned to my wife and made a comment about the 'canned' Haggis I saw advertised in one of the Scotland Magazines. WHAT DO YOU KNOW! Just at that time I saw it in the fancy red and yellow can, Sirlon Beef, Highland Beef and Veggie Haggis! Having never tried haggis before I dug in...yep, free samples! Not bad but as someone once said everybody has a different description, to me it was like the Underwood Roast Beef potted meat, except drier. Oh, I forgot, yep saw someone put BBQ sauce on it. Not REAL Scottish but when in Texas BBQ sauce goes on almost everything!

It's great if you want to 'treat' someone but I don't think I'll make it a weekly thing...unless I find a way to do it myself. Check it out and the funny things is the guy lives about 2 miles from me...small world.
And for the purest yes, I did see a guy in cowboy boots, cowboy hat and in a kilt. My wife started to get a picture but got distracted...kinda windy!
That's the low down...now would someone pass the rolaids!
