My wife ( She that must be obayed)are going to Austria for a week.Together with the choir she sings with.

I almost split my Ardbeg 17 year old single malt.
Sitting at home here in Norway flipping through this quarters "Living History" (a Norwegian history magazine). To be confronted with this headline.

THE KILT IS NOT AT ALL SCOTTISH.

I will now translate.

"The Tarten Kilt has been gainning popularity in Austria, after a local archaeologist claim that it was in Austria the kilt was invented. The archeaologist refered to textile found in Molzbichl in Austria where they have apparently found remains of europes oldest kilt. Dated to 320 b.c. This is some 1600 years before the frist known example of a Scottish kilt. However this doesn't supprise the Scottish one bit. Brian Wilton of the the Scottish Tartans Authority says the kilt no doubt belonged to a Kelt. Kelts invaded Scotland at a later date.

Make of this what you will. "long live the Kilt".

I'll be taking mine with me.
