Wore it for the first time today, and it is my new Most Favoritest Kilt in the Whole World.
We took a 4-mile stroll on the Sawyer Camp Trail along Crystal Springs Reservoir, a "long loch" running south along the peninsula in San Mateo County. Never been there before and found it's nothing strenous: flat, and actually paved. Pretty locale, though.

The kilt:
And a pleat shot. I like that pleating to the red stripe a LOT on this tartan:
Got several favorable comments on the kilt, one from a park ranger. And as we were walking back to our car we passed a family with two young boys entering. The lads immediately asked their parents about the kilt, and as we walked on I heard the father explaining that it's a Scottish thing. One of the boys immediately followed up with, "Mom, can I get a bagpipe? Please?!?".
Perhaps a piper will come into being because of my walk today. May the gods be pleased to make it so.
